1. "My claws are down now, so don't be afraid . . ."
Shellstep often feels the need to comfort those around her, taking on the daunting job of encouraging cats to take action against their foes, regardless of how drastic it is. She has earned a reputation, a negative one in some cases, and as a result, constantly feels the need to console those around her, since she believes that they are afraid of her and her tactics. She often struggles with making friends outside of Silentclan, assuming other clans know about Silentclan's operations, since several clans aren't particularly fond of them.
1. "Please stop looking the other way . . ."
Cats outside of Silentclan will often turn their head the other way when Shellstep comes around, fearing that if they make eye contact with her, they will somehow become associated with her next contract. Shellstep feels guilty whenever other cats do this to her, since most don't seem to acknowledge the fact that murder needs to be 100% justifiable before Silentclan even considers it. She wants to scream that all of Silentclan isn't bad, and that all the cats around her need to stop discriminating, but she bites her tongue constantly.
1. "But this blood on my teeth, it is far beyond dry."
Shellstep will openly admit it, she is occasionally the cat who carries out contracts, which is part of the reason why she has such a poor reputation among cats outside of her own clan. She wants those around her to know that she isn't going to kill them, and hopes that stating something along these lines will comfort those around her. She hopes that one day other clans will realize Silentclan has good intentions, they only contract cats that need help, after all.
